MELBOURNE AND SINGAPORE SERVICE.
ADELAIDE, M»y 27; The South Australian Government is protesting against the proposal made by the Government of Victoria that it shall subsidise the Currie steam line to Singapore. It contends that the proposal is contrary to the Federal Constitution, which, debars one State from granting a bonus without the Federal sanction.
[The proposed subsidy is £20,000 to Sir- Donald Curries line for a monthly service.]
