MOTOR BOATS.
The race for the launch's motor dingey takes place on Saturday next. Only the. boats which took part in the opening display are eligible to compete. The Matareka was at Ma tea tea and Squadron Bays (Waiheke) on Sunday last. The Geisha visited Rocky Bay. Mr A. Gifford's launch, which has already been referred to in these columns, was launched by Messrs Logan Bros, last Saturday. The late Captain Streater's launch Seaford has been sold by Mrs Streater to Mr Reid, of Heme Bay, Ponsonby. The liehutaj, Karoro, and Tawaki were launched this week. Mr Keene, of St. George's Bay, has placed an order with Messrs Logan Bros, for a small launch, which is to bo fitted with a 3-h.p. Zealandia engine. Messrs Bailey and Lowe's new launch Ripple will be launched in about a fortnight. She is to be fitted with a 12-h.p. Hercules engine. Messrs Lane and Sons were to launch this week a small boat -,-ith a 3-h.p. Zealandia engine for Mr Atkinson. A 30ft. torpedo stern launch for Mr J. Brans, of Newton, was launched by Messrs Bailey and Lowe on Thursday last. She has a 7-h.p. Eagle engine. The same firm are building a similar boat for Mr J. Harris, and she will be ready about the middle of December. They have also just received an order from Mr J. Jaggs, of Epsom, for a 22ft. launch, which will be fitted with a 3-h.p. t)e Dion engine. Mr F. Cooper is having a 28ft. launch built at Messrs Bailey and, Lowe's yard,and she is to be fitted with an 8-h.p. Eagle engine. The boat is to be com- i jpleted for the Ponsonby regatta, i
