How to Eat Strawberries.
Most people are content to cat strawberries without any additional relish, or at most with the orthodox cream; but tiie following method is one which will appeal to those who appreciate a change, and, be it added, one worth trying:— The gTeen stalks of the strawberries are first removed, after which the fruit is sprinkled with sugar and- the juice of a lemon, and when crushed with a, fork the result is one of the most luscious and cooling compounds imaginable. Strawberries with sugar and pepper does not sound a delightful mixture, but a doctor is the authority that it is the best; the pepper acts as a corrective for the coldness of the fruit. It is said that when the pepper and sugar are mixed —of course, only a moderate quantity of the former —one cannot taste the pepper at all.
