GRAVE CHARGES AGAINST A WOMAN.

PALMERSTON NORTH, this day.
A married -woman named Susan Colo was arrested here late yesterday afternoon on a.charge of having-on or about the month of June last at Palmerston North used' certain instruments upon Agnes Maiighan, a "married "vvOtnan, •with intent to procure abortion. Accused was before the Police Court this ing. and on the application of the police was remanded for eight days. The police . stated that the woman - operated upon was between life . and death, and had in fact been given up by a doctor. Application by* accused's counsel for bail was refused, • '■ "- '•■"
