Controller Shot Dead in Pekin. (Received 9.7 a.m.) PEKIN, November 5. Mr. Pless, late Controller of the Chinese in the Nourse Deep mine, in the Transvaal, has been shot dead at Pekin. The identity of his murderers is unknown.
