ELECTRIC WIRE FATALITY.
A CARTER KILLED.

WELLINGTON, this day.
A carter named William Wilson wad electrocuted on the new Miramar whad by coming into contact with a livq electric lighting wire of 1000 volts. Deceased- and another man, William Weldon, were engaged carting timber from the wharf to Kilbirnie. It appears that a wire had been pulled down by a load of furniture and a portion of the insulation was torn away. Wet don noticed the fallen wire, and drovq over it, but Wilson jumped off the carl! to lift the wire to enable another tohide to pass. Immediately lie touched the wire he fell and died almost im« mediately. His left hoad, which Jiad been in contact with the wire, showed signs of burning. Deceased wsa w single man and is believed to hwra come from Australia. An iatjiEst wn3 be held this afternoon.
