LORD PLUNKET.

(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) COROMANDEL, this day. A parcel of ore from the new reef, which is about two feet wide; has been assayed at the Coromandel School of Mines for a yield at the rate of £17 14/ per ton (4oz 3 dwts gold and 4oz ldwt silver). This lode, which was disclosed by a slip near the upper drive, is of a rubbly nature.

COMSTOCK UNITED.

The manager of the Comstoek United Gold Mining Company has advised the secretary that a new reef has been intersected in the mine. The reef is 10ft. thick, and is believed to be ft continuation of the Sir Walter Scott, or Ivanhoe reef. It runs north-east and south-west, and dips westward. The reef has been driven on for 15ft., and it maintains its size, carries nice minerals, and is goldbeaxing. Development will be carried on to ascertain its value.

WAIOTAHI.

A dividend of 1/3 per share for the month of October has been declared by the directors of the Waiotahi Gold Mining Company. The dividend, which .will be payable oa Wednesday, frill absorb £ 15,000.

MINE MANAGER' RErOBTS.

Minerals, Limited.—Unring the Brst bait of the month the mine was elGsed down on account of shortage of water. Xhe wash-np for the last fortnight yielded 430z of alluvial gold, sold for iII6S, an average of IS/G per load. The wages ror the montli were £64.

May yuenn Extonaed (UctoDor 30). —In the rise on the west branch of the Adelaide re(?£ the ore is of good quality. Two o f the ribs or veii)£ of quartz continue to yield quartz showing strong dibs and colours of coarse gold, and the ore is save<l for crushing. 'X'hc rlt-e is being carried np l:.'ft in length, thue, giving us a good grip of ttie leaders. There will bo a good block on these velne to the couth of the rise, ana as soon as possible I will extend Uie drive below the rt-se iv tnat dlrecl.ion. The drive west on the Koefcy I'olnt reef Is now in Ullt, and Tery promising quartz is coming in on. the footwall side of Hie reef, while the main portion of the lode is strong, heavily mineralised ore. I expect to intersect the west branch of the Adelaide roof at any moment in tlile drive. We are driving on the same class of rocfc as that in the rise on the west branch, and expect to get good ore at the junction.

Magnet. — The work in the f«e of the main cross-cut is now of an easier nature to bore, and streams of water continue to flow from the seams, the pressure increasing as we advance. The distance driven by the present company is ii-ift. We may now and reefs.

Victoria (November 1) : The country on Ibe hanging wall of No. 1 reel is still of a splendid description for the existence or gold, it belns intermixed with numerous quartz and mineral veins. The main reef contains a little good mineral on tun extreme hanging wall, Intermixed with silica, but so far we have not seen any gold here this week. The No. 2 reef east of the crosscut is encased in a good class of sandstone, intoxmixed wltln mineral and silica veins. The quartz coming to hand is carrying a little mineral on the hanging Wall of the reef. The quartz coming from the Waiotahi reef is about the same as usual, not very heavily minerillscd. Thames: Daring the past weet the main crosscut has been extended a further distance of 20 feet. No quartz has yet been met with, but the country is of a first class description of good mild sandstone.
