Sir H. Campbell-Bannerman assured a deputation that be hoped in 1907 to legislate to enable women to sit as members of County Councils and other local authorities.

[At present, although women are entitled to seats on Boards of Guardians and some minor Councils, they are debarred from membership of local governing bodies.]
