THAMES BOWLING CLUB OPENING.

THAMES, Thursday.

The Thames bowling season opened this afternoon in beautiful weather. There was a. very large gathering of members and friends a considerable number of bowlers being present from the surrounding districts of Auckland. In opening the green the president (Mr. J. T. Inglis) referred to the energy and enthusiasm of the green superintendent (Mr. A. Court), who was the father of bowling on the ThameSj and to whom the club owed so much. The match between president's and vice-president's teams resulted in a win for the former by eight points. The following were the skips of their respective rinks: The president v. A. Smith, F. Sykes v. P. Brimbleeombe (of Mount Eden), A. Court v. C. Ranson (of Remuera), R. S. Noonan (Karangahake) v. W. Forest (Paeroa), and A. E. Dodd v. H. Dalton (Te Arolia).
