HARBOUR BOARD.

The Auckland Harbour Board met yesterday afternoon, there being a full attendance of members. The Hon. E. Mitrhelson -was elected chairman, as reported fully elsewhere in this issue.

The Harbour Scheme.—Letters confirming the acceptance by Mr Ferguson of ithe position of consulting engineer with Mr P. Hay on the harbour scheme, were received and referred to the Finance and Legal Committee for report on the remuneration to be given. A Steam Crane.—A 40-ton steam crane, belonging to the Sydney Harbour Trust, was put under offer to the Board, but the Engineer reported thot as the Board was going in for a Coating crane it was not needed.

Grammar School Sports.—-The use of Calliope Dorir was granted the TAncliland Grammar School for swimming sports on tie usual terms.
