WAIKATO NOTES.
TWO ACCIDENTS. AN EXCITING EXPERIENCE. (By Telegraph:—Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, this day. A Maori named Puru was admitted to the hospital to-day. He was kicked by a horsa at Waingaro, causing compound fracture of the left leg below the knee. Frederick Bostable slipped while carrying- two buckets of water up a flight of step 3, injured his spine, and broke the small bone of his thigh. Private Loveday left to-day to take part in the New Zealand Rifle Association's Meeting at Trentham commencing March 2. Mi- G. Lawcoek, a Walton settler, had an exciting experience, while ploughing a paddock where there were some very tall thistles. Without warning he and his team oi five horses were attacked by a swarm of bees, having eivdently turned over a thistle which the swarm had taken possession of. To make matters worse the thistle became entangled with the plough. With great difficulty Mr Lavreork managed" to extract- his horses from this perilous position, but not before all had been brfdly stung.
