THE NGAPUHI EXCURSION.

WHANGAROA, this day. The Ngapuhi excursionists yesterday, spent a delightful day at Russell. ,W, the morning a party of nine gentlemen and ladies set off on »r . Frenchman's Hill, where a magnificent view of the islands in the bay is obtained. Others visited the old churcn and Flagstaff Hill. Mr JVilliams, the Company's agent, pointing out many historic spots. Later in the day the excursionists were taken round the harbour in the launch, visiting Waihapu, Paih* andWaitangi. In the evening v concert was given in the social hall of .• t*» steamer, and was followed by a aw» in the Russell Public Hall. All are loo£ ing forward eagerly to the programm* at Whaugaroa.
