The final round for the Hallenstein trophy, fired by. the No. 3 0.R.Y.. at Waihi. resulted as follows:—Corp. Comes. 22 points, first; Pie. Samson, 16 points.-secondl The first round for another"trophy was also fired: Private iSaunders {7S), Samson (77), and Corp; Gomes (76) were tb.c chief scorers.
The distribution of prizes in connection -with the last Auckland Anniversary Regatta took place at the Waitemata Hotel last evening. Only a small portion of the prizes wa-s presented, as .a. large -number of the successful eoin-petit-Qrs failed to put in an appearance. i)uring the evening, the Regatta Committee met to consider various disputes in regard" to the racing. It was decided to re-sail the 16ft Open-boat Race on Saturday afternoon next at 2 o'clock. The boat which swamped •was, according to regatta, rules, disqualified. A protest had been entered against Mbwai, which -was first in the Deckgd or Half-decked Yacht Race, on the grounds that she carried more than the stipulated number of men as crew, and the committee upheld the protest, awarding"first prize' to Welcome Jack, and tjie -seeorid -W-Seahoree.-Iβ-Regard to the race for yaehfcs not exceeding'2sft, the committee canie to no decision on the .point in to-the absence of sonTe of the boats from port. Tiae&cow Race will be re-sailed inside six- " months.
