THE GOLDFIELDS.
NEW MOANATAIARI. The manager reported to-day that the contractors for driving the crosscut parallel with the. Waiotahi G.M. Co.'s boundary at No. 3 level are making very fair headway through good firm sandstone. In the workings on the Cambria reef below the level the small leader produced 101b of good picked stone during the week. The manager is in hopes that this leader will carry down into the mineralised band of stone lying on the back of the big lode. The two workings have now been connected, so that there will be no time lost in determining the throw of the lode on the break, and its value through it. Crushing should be completed towards the end of the month. WAIOTAHI. The following telegram was posted on the Exchange to-day from the manager of the Waiotahi G.M. Co.: "Completed further breaking down. Selected 1501b of picked stone. Good dabs of gold a till showing in the bottom of the winze." Before the telegram was posted shares sold at 18/3. Afterwards a shilling advance was offered, . ~
