SHRUBB AND DUFFEY.
SYDNEY, February 9. Mr. Coombes (president of the Australasian Athletic Association) has selected | Wheatley, the Victorian long-distance I runner, to proceed to New Zealand to compete there with Shrubb and the local athletes. At the reception of Shrubb and Duffey by the Melbourne Cricket Club the visitors were welcomed on behalf of New jiealand by Mr. David Mills. A conference was afterwards held, and New Zealand was represented by My. Parkinson, a member of the Victorian Athletic Couacil.
