SCHOOL COMMITTEES.
F&BNEIJk. The Parnell School Committee met last evening. There -were present Messrs 3. Petford (in the chair), Rev. Canon MacMurray, W. F. Bines, J. Mills, W. Thomas, S. B. Lusk, W. C. Speight, and R. G. Bdgecoiabe and the secretary. A letter from the secretary to the Auckland Cricket Association was read asking for a partial holiday on Friday and Monday to witness the crictet watch, as the 1 Education Board'had granted a half-holiday ou Friday. The letter was received. A letter was received from Mr J. Reid giving permission to hoid the school's annual picnic at Motutapu on Saturday, 18th. The secretary was instructed to write thanking Mr Reid for bis kindness. It was decided to obtain an estimate al the cost of Isaisoinining the corridors of the ojd school. The Chairman and House Committee were authorised to spend a sum of money up to £5 for school prizes. The headmaster reported that the average roll for the quarter eudins 31st Peeemher. ISO*, was 579, and rbe average attendance was f>31.3, which may be considered satisfactory. Accounts to the amount of £12 5/11 were pawed for pa-vment-
