BOARD OF CONTROL MEETING. THE ENGLISH SELECTION COMMITTEE. ' (By Cable.—Press Association.— M)psrigtit > | N (Received 9.8 a.m.) LONDON, February 8. ' The Board of Control, which consists of six members of the M.C.C. and six representatives of the principal counties met yesterday at Lord's. The representatives of the M.C.C. are: The Marqoia of Granby (president).. Lord Alverstone, Lord Lichfield, Lord Harris, Mr. B. E Foster and Air. A. G. Keel, K.C. The counties were represented by Mr. J. Hoiiier (Lancashire), Hon. F. S. Jackson (Yorkshire). Mr. J. E. Mason (Kent), Mr. G. MaeGregor (Middlesex), Mr. w! E. Denison (Notts), and the Earl of Winterton (Sussex). The Board deqided that the times of play, division of profits; and the appointment of umpires for the test cricket matches shall be exactly similar to that of the 1902 team. Lord Hawke (captain of the Yorkshire eleven), and Messrs. J. A. Dixon (Notts) and Peiham H. Warner (captain of the lust M.C.C. team which toured Australia), have been appointed to choose the teams. {A suggestion was made that the Board of Control should consider a proposal that after the first test match the choice of innings, instead of being decided by toss, should be automatic until the fifth, i.e.. that the loser of the first toss should have choice in the second and fourth matches, and the winner in the first and third. Apparently the suggestion was not entertained, since no mention is made of the proposal in the cable message.]
