(From Our Own Correspondent.) PAEEOA. 'Jhiesday. > Tie Rev. Father Macdonald, of Sydney, •wiio has been visiting this district, left for RocotTEi to-day. Mr EL P. Barry leaves for England at the end of the month. He expects to be •absent from the colony for alwrot sis months. The recent rain has rendered the Paeroa Bowling Green unfit for play, bat as soon as the weather takes up again the pairs matches will be commenced. PAEKOA, this day. Sir J. Ryan, Inspector of Mines, paid a visit o? inspection to Walorongomai mines yesterday. Good progress is reported as being made in construction works on the Paeroa-Waihi railway. Plate-laying in the taanel is ftntehed. The OhiTYPTTmri Rifles, No. 1, compete -for a cup jrlven by Hγ H. C. Wick on Saturday neett, and for a trophy given by Mr Lynch on tiie ISth inst. The ranges for the flist competition are 200 and 500 yards, and for the second 500 and 600 yards.
