On the Footpath. —Henry Cranswick, a Birkenhead resident, was fined 5/ and 7/ costs for riding his bicycle on the footpath of Great North-road, By-law Breaches.—Upon admitting that he was the owner of a horse found wandering in Wellington-street-, Samuel Brown was fined §/ and costs. David Stewart, of Albert, was fined ,'l/ £htt 12/ a similar offence. !and Robert' Bett'_. v a who drove on the wrong side of Customs-street, was fined 10/ and 7/ costs. I Unregistered Dogs.—H. Townsend, Roljart Hunt, and J. H./jDunU} bf- -unregistered dogs, were prosecuted hy Mr T- C. Turner on behalf of the City Council. Mr Turner explained that the defendants had now taken out licenses, and they were discharged upon,paying costs. Repentant.—The plea of Mary Burtenshaw to a charge of using indecent language in Morton-street foas that she could not recollect tbe matter. The bad language was testified to by several neighbours, and Mrs Burtenshaw tearfully pleaded that it was all through drink. The magistrate ascertained that for some years Mrs Burtenshaw had kept away from intoxicants, and he dealt with her by issuing a prohibition order and requiring her to furnish a surety to be of good behaviour for three months.
