iFrom Our Own Correspondent.) PAEROA. Monday. At the Police Court this morning, before Messrs Polch-agh and Cock. J.P.s, Wi.liani Mr Man us was charged with hawking frtc't within the Otrinemuri Cou&ty wi-tnont a license. Mr Porritt appeared for Mr Martin, the inspector, Mr Moresby defended. The accused pleaded not guilty. The Bench held that no proof of hawking had been brought forward, and. dismissed the case. Joseph Martin (the ranger) charged Henry Sorensen with r nterfering with a horse which he had seized for impounding. After hearing evidence the Bench dismissed the ,-ase. and allowed £1 9/ costs against the rrrforrnairtJohn Gibbons. A. W. ElUs. H. Jenkinson and T. W. Simpson were fined 10/ and for failing to register their dogs. Mr Edw-in Edwards en>oys the distinction of being the first licensed sharebroker in the Ohinemuri County. A i-hiidren's carnival is to b# held in March, under the auspices of the Karangahake Branch of the Miners' Union, instead of the usual sports.
