WELLINGTON GARRISON BAND.

(By Telegranh.—Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, this day. The Wellington Garrison Band leaves on Friday to take part in the brass band chn-mpionsnips to be decided in Auckland next week. The band has been practising assiduously for some time past, and competent jodges apprehend it wili take a lot of beating for the big money. There is a po-ssibilrtv of one of its best solo players being unable, at the last moment", to make the journey, and should this unfortunately prove to be the case, tbe chances of our bandsmen pulling off the honours will be seriously jeopardised.
