AUCKLAND HARBOUR BOARD.
The ordinary meeting of the Anckland Harbour Board was held at the Board's office to-day. Mr. J. T. Julian, chairman, presided, and there were also' present: Messrs. G. W. Basley, W. J. W. Philson. Alex. Alison, J. W. Walker, Hon. E. Mitchelson, W. J. Parker, A. E. Glover and J. M. Laxon.
Lease.—Massey Bros, wrote asking for a lease of the allotments near the Morgue, now occupied by Messrs. Bagna.ll Bras., at a rental of £25 per annum. The application was granted.
Debentures.—The secretary reported that debentures to the value of £31,000 had l>een taken up so far.
Shells. —The clerk to the Waiteinata. County (i'ou-neil wrote requesting permission for the Council to remove shells from a bank at the head of Shoal Bay for binding roads in the takapuna district.—The application was agreed to.
Works Committee.—The Works and Tariff Committee recommended that the Mt. Wellington Road Board should be granted permission to remove 50 loads of .sand and shells from the sandspit at Tama-ki Bench. They also recommended that the extension of repairs to the Riverhead be proceeded with. Consideration of the engineer's report on the question of water supply was deferred.—The recommendations were agreed to.
