THE CHRISTCHURCH JEWELLERY ROBBERY.

Sir, — Your Christehureh correspondent in wiring up re Phillip White, who recently touiniitted the daylight robbery in Chrlstehurch, is woefully at sea over his statements touching the Sydney career of the accused (page 3). Constable (xuilfoyle was shot at Redfern (Sydney) by a man named Shaw, who subsequently committed suicide at Melbourne while a constable there waa attempting his arrest for another crime. Constable Mither was shot at Auburn some weeks later (10 miles from Sydney i. for which two men were hanged named Di&by firand and Jones—not Uigby and Grand, as your Christehureh correspondent states. —I am, etc., C.
