HATRED OF MR GLADSTONE.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —The gentleman who defended Mr Gladstone in your columns in reply to Dr. BakewelFs letter referred to Mr Joseph Chamberlain as a twopenny half-penny "'hucksterer." It all seems very stupid. The names of Gladstone and* Chamberlain will live for all time in the history of British polities as great statesmen, of whom any nation might be justly proud.—l am, etc. C.R.B.
