Precautions against Fire. oince the fire scare at the Government Buildings the waterpipes have been laid on to different portions of the house, so that it could now be almost deluged with water without needing to attach the hose to any place outside of the building.
. The San Francisco Mail. It ia stated that the net coat, to the colony, of the San Francisco Mail Service during; 1874 was £9980; of the Suez Service, £7954 ; of the Torres Straits service, £107. Under former agreements the three services would a»ve cost over £30,000.
