Dullness of Trade
Business is very dull, and without some reaction many stores must close. Complaints are rife against the Government for not permitting free selection to intending purchasers, who come and return disgusted. Gold Prospecting.
Advantage will be taken by the return of the Chief Tupaea to thoroughly prospect Kaimai, where gold^bas been found. (Per Press Telegram Agency.) This day. Stripping a Clothes-line.
In the Resident Magistrates Court this morning, John Doyle for stripping a clothesline was sentenced to six months' imprisonment with hard labour in Mount Eden. The Kowena has not returned from Ohiwa.
