GREYMOUTH.
(Per Press Telegram Agency.) Monday. Drowning.—Reminiscences of the Sul-
livan Murderers.
E. S. Fox, an old resident of Greymouth, was drowned while attempting to ford the new river, five miles south of Greymouth, on Saturday evening. The deceased, who was formerly a member of the County Council, and well-known in various parts of the colony; was the gold-buyer in 1866 for whom Burgess and Kelly's gang lay in ambush near the Arnold, Grey Valley, %vhen they mistook and murdered Dobson, the District Engineer.
