Panic in Burmah
Small Pox and Cholera at Singapore-

Tho Tone) Straits mail steamer Singapore has arrived at Towmville.—Dr Sterling is a passenger. She brings the following items of News :—
Singapore, June 28.
Consequent on a probable war with England, a panic has occurred in Burmah among the Chinese traders, with many failures. Great depression exists in the jute trade The Indian Government has brought out another loan of five millions. Nine Chinese have been executed for murder, and several others transported to the Andaman Islands. Seven hundred Indian coolies arrived at Penan? with smallpox amongst them. ChoLra is prevalent at Singapore, and H.M. gunboat the Fly has been placed in quarantine. The Dutch are making little progress in Acheen. They lost 100 men in their last engagement, and their is much sickness in their army. The Cybele, a London steamer, ran upon a rock near Baffle's Light, at the entrance of Singapore Harbour. The liose, Victoria, and Waterlily had arrived from Port Walcot with cargoes of pearl Bhell. EUROPEAN ITEMS. The Earl of Cadogan has been appointed Under-Secretary of War, in the room of the Earl of Pembroke. Admiral Borcatztequi has been killed at Santander. , Prince Bismarck has ordered the abolition of the Official Press Bureau at Berlin. A gun-cotten explosion has occurred at Woolwich. '..,,, A fire at Lowestoft desbroyed the telegraph works. General Garibaldi has visited Villibri to celebrate the battle fought in 1849. Mr George Smith has been authorised to spend another £1000 in further researches in Mesopotomia. Cardinal Cullen will preside at the Dublin celebration of the centenary of Daniel O'Connel.
President Grant has met the Sioux chiefs and ordered them from Black-hill.
