THE TYPHOID FEVER PATIENTS.
The following petition relative to the typhoid fever patients from the Neglected Children's Home was presented to the Mayor to-day: "To his Worship the Mayor and Council of the City of Auckland, July 29, 1875, —We the undersigned, inhabitants of Karangahape Boad and the neighbourhood, protest against the action of the Council in letting one of their cottages as an hospital for fever patients from the Industrial Home for Destitute Children. Having laid the matter before proper authorities, as we think without any good results, we now demand the removal of the patients to a better situation : Thos. H. Smith, Wm. Felton, Thos. Walker, J. A. Walker, W. F. Pettitt, G. E. Collins, Thomas Barnes, George Tibbutt, W. Stimpson, Edmund Taylor, James Williamson, Williamson, Charles Gleeson, Mrs. Murray, Watkin J. Edwards, Thomas March, W. H. Smith, John McLeod, T. Hobson, J. Warren P. Porter, Wm. Sinclair,, Ellen C. Somers, Job. Gittos, Charles Palmer, Peter Tomlinson, F. W. Smuk, Mrs. Clark, Mr. Hemus. We would respectfully direct your attention to clause 23 of the Public Health Act."
