The Colonial Bank. The second half-yearly meeting of the Colonial Bank was held this afternoon. Mr Larnach, the chairman, said that in December the accounts were 400, and now the number had increased to 2,600 of 1,156 on 15 shares originally taken up; 14,000 was the deficiency not yet paid up out of the subscribed capital. No dividend was declared this half-year, but the chairman said they would declare one next year. The gross profits for the half-year was £11,746 3s. 6d., and the balance in hand £3,332 13s. 7d. The profit and loss account show a balance of £5,823 after paying all expenses and providing for bad and doubtful debts. It was recommended that this should be carried forward to the next half-year. The report was adopted. R. C. Strode was appointed director vice A. M. Morris. A unanimous vote of thanks was accorded to Mr L. O. Beal, the manager. David Proudfoot, contractor, served a writ to the Provincial Government for £20,000 for non-ullfillment of agreement regarding contracts. . The Jockey Club has issued a programme of the Spring meeting and annual races of March 1876. The prizes amount to £1650, including the Dunedin Cup Handicap 100 soys. 40 soys ; and Jockey Club Handicap' 100 soys. Cup being increased to 100 soys. this year. -
