COMPLIMENTARY ENTERTAINMENT TO MR McCOMISH.
A complimentary entertainment will be given to-morrow (Friday) evening, to Mr J. McComish, in the City Hall, by the members of the Hobson Band Minstrels. Mr McComish has long and honorably been ooDnected -with music in this city, and such an entertainment is due to one who has devoted so much time and study to the beautiful (science of music. The first part of the programme will consist of ballads, choruses, etc., while the two "corner men,' namely "bones" and "tambo," wiil create a fund of merriment by their comic songs, local conundrums, and piercing puns ; some of them, we learn, for originality and pungency are worthy of Sydney Smith, or the inimitable Jerrold, the great age r punster. The second part will include ballads, comic songs, double songs and dances, negro sketches, hornpipe, and a lively negro farce. The third part will include the immensly popular " Doctor's Shop," with Mr W. Seton for the renowned Billy Greely, with the Dutch song of " All Fours." Miss Maggie Knight, the favourite actress, will also appear. A full and efficient orchestra of ten performers, under the leadership of Mr McComish, will be present, and contribute largely to the musical interest of the evening. We trust confidently, therefore, that Mr McCondßh will have what is termed a "bumper" house.
