Melbourne, July 23,
Discontent with the tariff is slowly and surely growing. Already defections from the Ministerial ranks in the Assembly have occurred, and some of the most rabid protectionists now face the Ministry in opposition. Monster meetings' of the League are to be held this evening in the Princess Theatre ; and a full meeting of the publicans yesterday gave their voice against the proposed changes.
