CRISTCHURCH.
(Per Press Telegram Agency.) Saturday. Public Meeting. A petition is being numerously signed here asking tbe Mayor to call a public meeting far the purpose of eliciting the opinions as to the policy of the General Government in proposing to abolish provincial institutions, and especially with regard to forcing on abolition without affording the people of the colony an opportunity of exercising their right to vote upon so important an organic change in the constitution of the colony.
