(From our own Correspondent.) This day,
Sale of Station Property. ____ Several station properties have recently changed hands. Messrs. Barker and McDonald bought 15,000 acres, freehold and leasehold, with 9,000 sheep, for £12,000. 1,200 acres adjoining sold for £4,500. Mr. Curtice bought Manguare run, 5,000 acres, with 2,000 sheep, at Upper Wairoa, for £4,500. Mr Bruce bought a half interest in the-Waikare run, 23,000 acres, leasehold, with 1,800 sheep, £1,600. Mr Maney bought Witty's estate, Wairoa, 5,000, at 50s per acre. Mr Miller reports several other transactions pending. Mr. Whitaker.—Native Meetings.
Mr. Whitaker defended eight native cases at Waipawa successfully. They were taken out of Court for settlement.
A .large native meeting was held yesterday and to-day at Te Aute to investigate native land transactions with the Provincial Government.
A meeting of natives at Tokuanu will be held next week.
Professor Bruce.—Maori Paper Professor Bruce was a failure here.
The new Maori and English paper is receiving good support in the way of advertisements. -
Dinner.
At a dinner given to tbe manager and editor of the Telegraph on Saturday by the employe's, our guests took the opportunity of eulogizing the-.Native Minister.
