Pigeon from the City of Melbourne.
S.S. CITY OF MELBOURNE AT SEA. . Passed Kawau at 1 30. There is a fresh breeze from N.W. Ihe various members of the Opera Troupes looking very happy after lunch. Germans and Italians quite satisfied with each other, having all taken a substantial luncheon. Celebrities' distinguishable from minor stars by their gloved hands. Whilst admiring the country residence of an Auckland merchant, who is well known for his diffidence in public and private life, _ passed tbe R.M.S. Lady Bowen, Charles __asper, Esq., commander, bound on a voyage from Auckland to Waiwera, but no ocean race took place. _hip crowded, but every one seems disposed to make the best of it. There was a general feeling that we wero sold in having to turn out before daylight, as we were told the ship would leave at 8 a.m., when, in reality, it was nearly noon before we left the harbour. If this weather lasts, we shall have a very pleasant passage. Been amusing ourselves securing the pheasants, which are now safely tied by the heads and legs. Every chance of their safe arrival in Sydney, as they are all consigned to passengers. A stowaway was discovered on board (an Italian) but his fellow-countrymen subscribed the amount for his passage and he goes on. Barton Ireland.
Services will be held in the Primitive Methodist Chapels, Edwardes and Sheridanstreets, morning and evening, at eleven and half-past six o'clock; and in Newmarket, afternoon at three, and evening at half-past six.
