MOUNT WELLINGTON HIGHWAY DISTBICT.—ANNUAL MEETING.

A MEETING of ratepayers of the Mount Wellington Highway District was held at the Panmure Hotel, Panmure, at noon this day, July 14. Mr. E. N. Byburne was unanimously elected to the chair. The Secretary of the late Board read a statement of receipts and asset?, and the expenditure and liabilities for the year ending June 30, 1875, were as follows : — Eeceipts and assets, £429 2s. lid. ; expenditure and liabilities under existing contracts, £491 14s, It was unanimously resolved that the'rate for the ensuing year be Id (one penny) in the £ on the value to sell. The following gentleman were unanimously elected trustees for the incoming year —Messrs William Innes Taylor, Thomas Oawkwell, Barton Ireland, William Mitchell, and John Stewart. Messrs Eobert N. Eyburne and Donald McPherson were elected auditors, and Messrs George Glew and Archibald Stewart were unanimously elected fence-viewers. Subsequently the newly-elected .Board held a meeting, at which Barton Ireland, Esq., was unanimously elected chairman, secretary and treasurer.
