HOKITIKA.

(Per Press Telegram Agency.) Monday. Coal at Jackson's Bay.

Two samples of coal, obtained at Jackson's Bay, have been taken to Wellington by the Superintendent, and have been analysed by the Government analyst, who reports that the coal is genuine bituminous, though of rather an inferior quality, owing to the ash being high. The samples sent are merely from the outcrops.

Storm. There was a severe storm here last night, but no damage was done to the shipping.
