DUNEDIN.
(Per Press Telegram Agency.) Sunday. Destructive Fire. There was a tremfindqus fare last nigbt, when Flaxman's fellmongery and woolsheds were totally destroyed. The insurance offices, it is understood* are heavily hit, as it was supposed the property was covered to the extent of £9000. As, however, the fire occurred some distance; from town, full particulars have not yet been received. It was only on Thursday last that the South British re-insured £500 with the Australian Alliance. Firemen were soon or£ the spot, and there was plenty of water obtainable from the creek running near the works, but no apparatus was available to .throw water on the fire. The glare from the conflagration was terrific, and lit up thoiwhole town. Reporters from all the papers are out, but very few particulars have yet arrived.
