(Prom our own Correspondent.) This day. The New Steamer Taupo. ■Arrived (yesterday) —Union Company's steamer Taupo, from Glasgow, after a passage of 63 days ; uneventful. The Taupo is a picture of the Hawea at all points, and is a splendid boat. American NotionsThe barque Crusader (American) arrived from New York, after a passage of 114 days. Experienced moderate winds and fine weather throughout. She has a full cargo of notions-half for this port, and half for Wellington. Contractor's Debts. Forty-one civil cases have been brought by workmen to recover wages from Mr Strachan, railway contractor, of Wellington, were heard yesterday. Judgment in each case was given for plaintiffs by default.
