AUCKLAND DISPENSARY.
The subscribers to the Auckland Dispensary held their adjourned meeting from February 4th, last evening in the Mechanics' Institute, F. L. Prime, Esq. (Mayor) in the chair. W. Shalders, the secretary read the Dispensary committee's report for the past year, expressive of regret that Dr Kenderdine could no longer act as medical officer. The treasurer's report stated that, although £48 appeared to their credit, two accounts had to be paid which would leave the dispensary in debt to the amount of £32. The balance-sheeet, as follows, was then submitted to the meeting shewing their financial position:— Dr., 1874: June 15, to Provincial Government grant in aid, £75. 1875 : May 4, to Provincial Government grant in aid, £75 ; Jnne 28, subscriptions and' donations, as per lists, £129 0s 6d ;— total, £354 0s 6d June 28, to balance, £48 6s 4d.~The expenditure left a balance, Dr., £48 6s 4d.—rThe' balance-sheet, and reports being adopted by the meeting, the principal business of the evening, the election of a medical ©fficer in the place of Dr Kenderdine was proceeded with. Only one application, that •f Dr John H. Hooper, had been received, and on the motion of Mr Wm. Swanson, seconded by Mr Atkin, Dr. Hooper was duly appointed Medical Officer to the Auckland Dispensary.—Votes of thanks to Dr Kenderdine for his liberal services, and to the chairman closed the business, and the meeting separated. »* ',''
