HARBOUR BOARD.-THIS DAY.

AITLTCA'IION. An application from the A.S.P. Company for the Board to lengthen their Tof the wharf was referred to Wharf Committee. & Captain Daldy stated that Mr Watson would to-day, start upon his contract for reconstruction another 200 ft. of the Queenstreet wharf. GRIEVANCE. A complaint of Mr Thwaites against the Engineer of the Board for not allowing his engine to wcrk afc the silt basin, was ordered to be on the table. NAVAL "RESERVE. An exchange of telegrams between the Colonial Secretary and the Chairman of the Board re the Hoy a] Is? aval Reserve was read. The matter was allowed to stand over. :new works. The following new works were proposed : —Koad, ]00 feet wide> from Albert-street to the Gasworks, along the foreshore ; agreed to. _ Building new cottage at the Pilot-station. This was referred to Captain Burgess. IMPUTATION ON AN OFFICER. The Works Committee, in their report, expressed their opinion that in regard to the charges made by the late Mr. Macready against the engineer of the Board, they were satisfied with the answers of the Engineer to the clauses 1, 2, and 4. With regard to clause 3, they were- not in a position to decide. , TENDERS. Only one tender for the steam dredge, having k been sent in, the time for receiving the same was extended till after the arrival of the Hero, arid it was decided to call a special meeting of th ■. Board for the purpose of considering them. The following tenders were accepted :—Mr Wool gar's tender for ironwork ; Mr Winstone's tender for cartage ; Mr Goldie's tender for timber. NOMINATIONS. Captain W. C. Daldy was nominated as chairman for the ensuing year. It was proposed by Mr Bretfc, "That Mr Whitaker's opinion be taken whether the Governor or Minister uf Public Works is not liable"to penalties for stopping the following highways, viz., Wynyard Pier and the public quay from Short-street to the Breakwater."
