Cruelty to Animals
Mr W. H. Warren, the person who kept a hungry horse so long in a bit of a paddock, standing at an angle of 30 degrees, without any food, has been roasted by the morning and evening papers. He has got notoriety on the cheap. The Last Colonial Firing. The JPost last evening pitches into Colonel Lyon and Major Gordon over the addendum to the report on the Colonial Prize-firing, which appeared in the last Gazette. The grievance is the bad ammunition which was served out at last Colonial firing. It sticks up for Frank Stevens, who, it says, has the best of the case.
Coasters. A great many coasters are lying in the Bay at present. Arrived—Marmion, from Kaipara.
