(From our own Correspondent.) This day.

The Tairua Company. The manager of the Tairua claim states in regard to the reported opening of the reef in the tunnel level, that the statement is incorrect. A change of country had set in, and a little gold was showing, but the reef was not to hand when they stopped operations.

Pumping Association. The Pumping Association's sinking has started, and is progressing steadily. There is no change yet in the bottom.

Robb ng a Till. At.the Police Court to-day, a boy named George Biddock, under 9 years old, who was detected with bis hand in a shopkeer's till waa sent for 5 years to the Industrial School.
