The first issue of the Times to-day is greatly improved. The leader gives great satisfaction.
Mr. Clarke, district engineer, was engaged surveying a bridge yesterday. At Cambridge, J. Douglas sued Mr Wood for £20, damages for trespass on land and injury to cattle and game. Mr Searancke held that no direct proof of damage had been given, but trespass was proved, and £1 damage was awarded ; costs, £2 153.
