(From our own Correspondent.) This day.
Bankruptcy Court. In the District Court in re R. Onyon. Mr Mac Donald appeared for the opposing creditors, and asked for an adjournment in order to examine the accounts. Granted. John. Terrell, the bankruptcy, was ascribed to many speculations ; deficiency, £245 lis. Received his discharge. James Chapman, deficiency, £253 ISs Re David Philip, the trustee in bankruptcy brought the question before the Court, whether the creditors were entitled to money paid by thei bankrupt for bringing out furniture from home which belonged to: the bankrupt's family. The Court said that it would have to co. siler whethtr it had authority to grant the order for these expenses and the Court sharply reprimanded the bankrupt for leaving the matter so long in abeyasce. Mr Philp said every effort would ber made Jto pay the money. The matter was allowed to stand over. Applications for Water Rights. The Warden sat to-day to hear several applications for water rights. The first called was a water right for the Captain' Cook, Puriri. There being no opposion, the application was granted. Beeches application for water right in Tairua was objected to by _-. Macky, and adjourned till the,29th nst. i The application for licenses by Cameron and Scanlan, were adjourned till the 20th.j Manakau. TheManukau is crushing specimens to-day, and will retort to-morrow night. The Crown Princess broke down on No. 2 to-day, 201bs. picked stone.. . Cut No. 1 reef last night; will cut through it to-day.
