Merlin Coughtry, shijurgeon, was charged with unlawfully assating Ann Vesey on the ship Chile by putt'g her in irons, tying her up to the capstan \r, and otherwise illtreating her on the 2n6f October, 1873. Mr Richmond appeaid for defendant, and Mr Brookfield for the psecution. Mr Richmond asked hat the case might be remanded until Mciay next, and as Mr Brookfield did not oppoe, the case was remanded accordingly. This was all the busicss.
