TURKISH BATHS.
It affords us great satisfaction to announce that a movement, originated by Dr Purchas, for the establishment of a Turkish Bath at Onehunga, has attained to such a position that it may be described as a success. The project takes the form of a joint stock company with a capital of £2,000, in 200 shares of £10 each ; whereof the one-half has boeu applied for within the past two days. It is calculated that by calling U[y the half of the capital within six months a very complete establishment, adequ;.t; \o all tl.e requirements for years to como, e;ui be supplied ; and as the site of the building is exactly opposite the Railway station at Onehunga, it will be very convenient and available for residents in the city. Than the Turkish bath it is admitted there is not in the whole circle of therapeutics any rnorelienlth-giving agency in cases of rheumatism especiall}', while for pulmonary disease and various other ailments it is a remedial means of most extraordinary efficacy. To those that know the Turkish bath it is needless for us to speak of its delightfully cleansing power, and that it will become as popular here as it is in Sydney and elsewhere is beyond a doubt. On public grounds we exceedingly rejoice at this important addi« tion to our institutions, while we have not the least doubt that as an investment it will give a most excellent return to those who embark their money in the enterprise. On both grounds we very cordially commend the project to general acceptance.
