SALE OF CITY ALLOTMENTS.
The result of the sale to-day, by Messrs Grant and Morton, -of the allotments in Upper Queen-street—the scene of the late firel—has been exceedingly satisfactory. The following are the names of the dutehasers and the amount of rentals realised: " Lots 1 and 2, 44 feet to Queen-street, Mr King, £165 per annum ; lots 3 and 4, 44 feet to Queen-street, G. Waller, £104 ; lots 5 and 6, 44 feet to Queen-street, William Saunders £112 ; lots 11 and 12,4? feet to Queen-street' 82 feet to Wellesley-street, F. Hewin, £230." The previous rentals of these lota having been £200 per annum, and the amount; now realised £611, it must be admitted thai tie City Council have very considerable reason for satisfaction at their share of the gams from the late " spontaneous combustion."
