The Westport Times states that another and easily wrought seam of excellent coal, jlose to the water's edge, has been discovered at the Mokihinui, and a prospecting icense has been applied for. Specimens brought in show a bright and heavy coal icsembling in all outward appearance the heat Welsh, and the prospectors state that vessels of good draught may run close along« side the river bank and roeeive coals.
