MELBOURNE.
November 13.
The following telegram has kindly been forwarded to us" by D. W. Walker, captain of the New Zealand team :— We landed here upon the lOfch instant, and commenced practice on the '11th. On the 12th -we shot in the Intercolonial large-bore match, and of course were iDea'ten. The Intercolonial' and other small-bore matches were finished before we landed. The other matches are now proceeding, and I will report success, if any, of our men. We have been most hospitably treated, and are all greatly pleased, though beaten Next week we proceed on invitation to shoot friendly matches at Ballarat, Sandhurst, and Malthorh. The individual scores of the New Zealan ders were as follows :-Small, S5 ; Christie •85 ; Reid, 83 ; Hoskins, S3 ; Eox, 82 -Alder' ton, 80 ; Goldie, 79 ; Fenton, 77 ; Hunt, 77 • Stone, 70 ; Halse, 75 ; McCreadie, 74 ■ Taylor, 71 ; Hicks, 69 ; Munrod, 09 ; Chipman 78 ; Thurston, 08 ; Ross, 03 ; Worfchington' 01 ; Stonebridge, 58. Intercolonial Small-bore Match : Victoria 1150 points ; New South Wales, 1119. ' Intercolonial Large-bore Match: New South Wales, 1186 points; Victoria, 1521; New Zealand, 1483.
